It is known that the way to a man’s heart it’s through his stomach and what shows more love than to feed them breakfast in bed. This is my husband favorite breakfast so we make it for him every Father’s Day. It is also my kids favorite so we have baked German Pancakes every Christmas morning for breakfast.
You are going to love this easy breakfast recipe!
- 6 eggs
- 1 Cup of Milk
- 1 Cup of Flour
- ½ tsp. salt
- 3 Tablespoons Butter
- Preheat your oven at 400º F.
- In a large bowl using a mixer blend the eggs, the flour, the milk and salt together. Make sure you mix all ingredients well until the mixture is foamy and smooth.
- Melt the three tablespoon of butter and spread it evenly on a 9" x 13" baking pan. The pan needs to be at least 2 inches tall since the pancakes are going to rise quite a bit. Pour the mixture into the pan slowly.
- Bake for 20 minutes on a preheated 400º F hot oven.
- Enjoy!
So easy!

Add some syrup to the yumminess to make it extraordinary…
For a full breakfast I add bacon, eggs and homemade hash browns.
Pretty amazing that something so simple can be so good!

Hello I was just wondering if the recipe is for 3 tsp or 3tbs? Or both?
Christina, I just fixed the recipe. You’ll use 3 tablespoons. Thank you for asking… xo
I saw this recipe and got really excited because I love pancakes, after I moved out of my parents house, it’s pretty much all I eat. Lol I want to make them but is it okay to cut the recipe in half, since I’m just one person.
Lyric, I don’t see why not. Let me know how it turned out!
Tried this this morning and it’s kid approved! Super yummy thank you!
This is an interesting take on German pancakes. My mother in law is German and she doesn’t bake them. She cooks hers on the stovetop with melted butter. They are bigger and thinner than American pancakes. They are eaten for dinner because pancakes are not considered a breakfast food. That is something that I still can’t get used to! The toppings are also different. Instead of maple syrup, they are topped with jam, nutella, applesauce with cinnamon sugar, or whatever the person fancies.
These turned out fabulous! The only modifications I made were:
1. the addition of 1 T. vanilla
2. leaving out the 1/2 t. salt bc I used salted butter
I’ve been searching for a good German Pancake recipe since I first tried them about a year ago–and this is it!
Thank you.
And, yes, the way to a man’s heart is most definitely through his stomach!
