Hi there, 36th Avenue readers! It’s Jill again from Create.Craft.Love. Can you believe the kids have been out of school for almost a month?! Summer is in full swing! We’ve been busy with BBQs, pool days, and playing in the sun. If you’re looking for a way to add a little flare to your next gathering, give these DIY Straw Toppers a try! They are so easy to make and I’m going to show you how!
All you need is scissors, cupcake liners, paper straw, hot glue gun and washi tape.
Disclaimer: Kids should not handle hot glue gun! Beware of burning little fingers!
- Flatten out three cupcake liners.
- Fold in half.
- Fold in half again.
- And again.
- Cut the top to look like a heart. (This will give the flower a scalloped edge.) Cut the tip off.
- Open cupcake liner flower back up.
Glue around the straw (about a third of the way down).
Insert straw through hole in the cupcake liner flower. Hold cupcake liners while glue dries.
Add washi tape around the straw at the bottom of the flower to secure in place.
Now you have a cute way to adorn drinks at your next party!
Make it a luau theme and whip up this Cupcake Liner Lei!
Or if you’re looking for something yummy to sip on, try our Fizzy Strawberry Lemonade!
