I love to eat and I love to cook.
I have said before that magic happens around a dining table.
Family becomes more solid while sharing a meal, a sense of comfort and familiar warmth comes to us
when we share the food we love with those that love us the most.
Sometimes those meals are beautiful and full of technique and ingredients
but most of the time in our family they are QUICK, simple, fun and hopefully delicious.
Last night this is what we had… Pizza made with Homemade QUICK Pizza Dough.
Quick Pizza Dough
{ First TURN ON THE MUSIC… Sinatra sing for us.}
Mix together and let stand until creamy:
1 Cup Warm Water,
1 package active dry yeast (.25 ounce) or 2 tsp. active dry east
and
1 teaspoon white sugar.
Add and beat until smooth:
2 1/2 cups bread flour
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 teaspoon salt.
Let it sit for 5 to 10 minutes and preheat the oven at 450º… HOT!
While heating up you’ll have time to get your favorite toppings ready.
We had Chicken Barbecue Pizza.
This is when magic starts to happens, when you get those little hands around you to help.
All we did was cut some chicken breast in small pieces and sautee it with butter in a sauce pan.
After the chicken was cooked we coated it with our favorite barbecue sauce:
“Sweet Baby Ray’s Honey Barbecue Sauce”
Then we chopped some green anions, olives, ham and bacon bites.
At this point the dough was ready to go.
Before putting the rolled out dough on place I like to lightly greased my pizza stone
with a little bit of extra virgin olive oil and dusted with cornmeal.
YUM!
Before we add the rest of the ingredients I like to broil the top for a few minutes to get it a bit firm.
Then we spread a good amount of barbecue sauce all over the dough,
as you would do with tomato sauce for a traditional pizza.
We added our cheese followed by the rest of the ingredients.
At this point it was ready to put it in the oven for about 15 to 20 minutes.
The rest is all about having a good time,
great conversation,
and if you have a Devin like I do perhaps you even get a thank you burp.
Oh BOY!
Dinner Time is Family TIME!
Happy Wednesday My Friends!
I’ll see you later at 6:00 pm during the Share Your Awesomeness PARTY .
Oh! I’ll be giving away 4 sets of my number stencils. Can’t wait to see your projects!
