ย
{ Before you start reading you should know that I HATE being late. }
I was so proud of myself this morning!
Feeling GOOD girl!
ย
ย
I had the kids inside of the car by 8:25 and I even had time to shower before that.
WOW! That was a first!
I got to the school by 8:30…
ย {ย school starts at 8:40 }
ย …andย as my children were getting out of the car and I wasย screamingย my regular “Have a SUPER DAY!” to them
{ expecting my Devin’s regular… “That was weird!” } this thought { thank goodness! } crossed my mind:
ย
” Oh CRAP!ย
Anni has her Christmas Play TODAY! “
ย
I had completely forgotten ย that she had to be dressed in herย Sunday Best
{ even though she had reminded me the night before }
and just like thatย life went right back to be… life!
ย
Me: Anni! Get back in the car!
Anni: What?!
Me: NOW!
We drove back home and it magically felt like it was Sunday morningย before church.
ย
Me: Where is your dressย and tights?
Anni: I don’t know…
Me: Anni how many times doย I need to tell you to put your boots back in the shoe basket?
Anni: { Silence}
Me: Oh no… Where is the phone… We ARE going to beย LATE!
Anni: We ARE late!
ย
{ At this point I was ready to have a panic attack. Did she say late? I hate being late!ย }
ย
I am not sure how but we managed to survive another imperfect morning.
On my way back home after dropping her off for the secondย time and ย wondering HOW in the world I forgot about dressing her properly,
believe it or not this is the imageย that came into my mind.
ย
{ ย Thank you Jimmy Jo – our cute little elf – for being there for me.}
ย
Inspired by my “not the mother of the year”ย moment and wanting to believeย that I am not the only one that forgets her own birthday,ย
I created something for ย me and you…
ย
Yes YOU!ย ย
The one looking forย the t-shirt thatย isย inside of the washerย with the laundryย that you didย a fewย days ago. ย
Yep! The sameย still WETย wash loadย that never made itย to the dryer.
ย
For YOU that instead of HO HO HOย is saying right now: ย
NO… No.. NO!
ย
YOUthat are standing in front of the computer reading this
when you were on your way to get something that you don’t even remember what itย is anymore.
ย
ย For you that are dreamingย ofย aย “silent night” insteadย of another night interruptedย by the cry ofย your sweetย baby,
theย barf ofย yourย poor sickย child,
or the snoring of your loving husband…
that by the way – no matter what he thinks or says – it is NOT the sound of music!
ย
You that wonder at times where the heck did time go?
Why the dishes keep coming?
How in the worldย I just turned 30, 40, 50, 60 or 110 ?
Why Santa gets allย the credit ?ย I am sure that Mrs Clauseย does a LOT !
{ You go Mrs. Clause! }
ย
For YOU that call every single oneย of your children’s names ย before you say the right one.
You that forgetย your ownย doctor appointmentsย but always carry a band-aid in your purse ๐
You that have not done your hair forever but everyday do your daughters…
I made for you my girlfriend,
you beautiful,
awesome,
ย incredible,
imperfect perfect womanย { that happen to love Diet Coke }ย this….
ย
ย

Hi, I Love this! I was reading your cute blog and grinning as I remembered those days. I am 56 and my boys are full grown now but it happens to all of us sooner or later and that’s a memory that will stay with you. Thank you for my smile today! Also, it was soooo nice that you said – “How in the world I just turned 30, 40, 50, 60 or 110?” What a good feeling to have my age added in with the others. ๐ And…One last thing, I had no idea what I was coming to at the end of your blog – but Oh my gosh – I looove my Diet Coke and always have it with me. Thank you for these adorable printables! I love your site and will be checking back soon. : ) Dawn
Dawn,
You just put a smile right back on my face. I love the fact that you love this post.
Thank you so much for visiting with me and leaving such a sweet comment.
You have a wonderful day!
I always love a post about true life rather than the “I’MaPERFECTmom/wife/sister/daugtherLIVINGaPERFECTlifeINtheSUBURBSdoingPERFECTthingsALLdayLONG”. So thanks for giving us a glimpseโฆ.my son missed school today because I was too sick to take him. Ridiculous, right?
I really enjoyed reading your post today. My “babies” are 23, 21 and 17 now and it has taken me a long time to realize i didnt have to the perfect mother. Being imperfect is what makes us good moms/parents.
I love your printable too.. but I dont drink diet or diet (ha ha,, even though i should). Now if it said “Keep calm and get your Coke on” then I would definitely do this for a happy for coworkers.
Hope you have a Merry Christmas
Oh yes! Desiree, I fall into the group of imperfect Momโs. I love the title โnot the mother of the yearโ, so funny. I am always finding myself walking around the on the way to get something that you donโt even remember what it was anymore. Thanks for laughs, your the Best! Merry Christmas.
Smiles, Paula
