Oh my goodness where have I been and why have I never heard about Mod Podge Outdoor before? You have? Why haven’t you told me about it? Don’t take me wrong I use regular Mod Podge all the time but I didn’t know about this waterbase sealer, glue and finish that lets you decoupage for the outdoors. Are you following me people? We are talking about magic in a bottle! I was so excited to play and create some decorations for my front porch with it. Ready to see?
Here we have my Outdoor DIY Pumpkin Tutorial.
I had so much fun making these pumpkins. I am going to share with you the steps just in case you have never used Mod Podge before. This product is one of the best things ever created.
To make these pumpkins you don’t need much.
Fabric
Wood… I used 1×8 Boards
Mod Podge Outdoor and Brush
Fabric leaves, acrylic paint, twigs and a glue gun.
Ready for the tutorial?
First you want to cut your wood and fabric to the sizes you like.
I painted the outside of my wood to give the pumpkins a more finish look.
Apply Mod Podge Outdoor to surface with your brush.
This will act like a glue. Don’t be shy… be generous!
Then position your fabric and smooth out any air bubbles.
Apply several thin coats, letting it dry 15 to 20 minutes between coats.
Let it dry 72 hours before placing outdoors.
Now, while drying you have plenty of time to take care of the leaves and stem.
If you have little ones let them have some fun and help you with this, I don’t know a kid that doesn’t love to paint!
Literally that’s all you need to do is cut them and paint them in the colors you like.
I went to my backyard to find a bunch of twigs. I applied some hot glue to the pumpkins and I attached the stem and the painted leaves to it. Easy as easy can be!
Aren’t they cute?
And just like that you can have decorations ready to handle the outdoors!
What can I say? I love Mod Podge!
