As a child, I used to love those little drink umbrellas! They were always so much fun to play with – until they ripped. See, the thing is, they were cheap and destructible. As much as I tried, I was just not careful enough. They needed to be sturdier. So, I have created a way to make your own DIY Drink Umbrellas and all you need is some cute cardstock and lollipop sticks!
Here is what you need to make your own Drink Umbrellas!
Cardstock
Octagon stencil
Pencil
Scissors
Glue stick
Hot glue gun
Lollipop sticks
I created my own octagon stencil from the back of the cereal box. You will need to cut out a small section to create the cone. Trace the octagon onto your card stock.
Cut out your octagon. {Don’t they look like some sort of octagonal Pac-Man?}
Fold from each point to the middle.
Using your glue stick, glue in place. It will overlap and become a 3D hexagon.
Flip over and place a dollop of hot glue in the middle. Add the lollipop stick. Hold in place as the hot glue solidifies.
Aren’t they adorable?
They look so cute with paper party straws!
Just imagine the possibilities! You can make some red, white and blue ones for 4th of July!
Add a swizzle stick with some fringe!

What a cute summer drink accessory. These stuff really adds a retro vibe to any party. And imagine yourself in one of those vintage polka dot skirts.
These are so cute! I’m putting them on my must make this summer list! Thanks for sharing the idea!
Jill, I’d have never thought to make these on my own. What pretty prints! It’s so much more fun than the traditional limited prints that you can buy umbrellas in. Love it!
