Here is a little project that I did yesterday as part of a bigger project that will be done tomorrow…
.
SO let’s call it the teaser… 😉
.
.
.
.
I think they are so cute…
They  look like something my sweet “abuela” would have loved.
{ I was actually thinking about her while making them.}
.
.
TUTORIAL
.
Eat your soup… your beans… your corn…
.
JUST EAT… but keep the cans!
After your stomach is full pull your spray paint OUT!
.
.
.
The first thing you are going to do is spray the inside of the cans so they look clean and pretty.
Make sure you paint the top border of the can since you won’t be able to do it later if you are using two colors as I did.
.
.
.
Let it dry five minutes or so and then turn them upside down.
Spray the outside of the can in the color of your choice. I did mine in white.
…Let it dry again.
.
.
.
While waiting to dry cut some scrapbooking paper of your choice.
I was going for a true vintage look… so simple graham was perfect.
.
.
.
You can STOP here and be done… but I wanted something a little more feminine.
Few things are more feminine than lace but since I didn’t have any I used some paper doilies that I had at hand. Just cut out the amount you want to add.
.
.
.
Then use some white glue to stick the doily to the can…
.
.
.
Now EASY with the glue the doilies are delicate and they will break if you go GLUE CRAZY!
.
At this point all you have left is to decide what are you going to use them for…
Me? I can’t tell you!
…You are gonna have to wait a few more days!
They make me HAPPY… I hope you like them!
.
.
.
Now… you know what happens on Wednesdays, we have a party over here starting at 6:00 pm.
So my ladies you better come back… this place is NOTHING without you!
…I see you later!
Oh! One more thing…We have a SUPER CUTE PARTY Sponsor today and her GIVEAWAY is just…. mmm… mmm… mmm… Yummmy!
You are going to love it!
How did you get the scrapbook paper to stay on the can? Crazy glue, modge podge?
I used a bit of hot glue to connect the ends but Mod-Podge works as well.
May I ask how you punched the holes in your cans? I love this idea so much! I think I’m going to make my Dad a tool-themed set for his shop for Christmas!
Amy, I used a drill to make them. How sweet of you to make something like that for your Dad!
Looking forward to seeing what you do with these lovelies. I love to transform food cans into storage. Want to see? Come over and visit me at
