…And it finally happened!
My house is a disaster, my kids have eaten a lot of Macaroni & Cheese, my hands have been covered in paint for the last three weeks BUT guess what?
Hakuna Matata baby… because Kitchen week is finally here!
Can you believe it?
Our kitchen has gone through such a big transformation so I decided to bring it to you in pieces…
What?
I know… there is too much to show in just one post. I’m sorry…
THE WINDOW TREATMENT
I have really spent many hours trying to find the right fabric for my kitchen valance and in my search for simplicity I could not find the one.
So I ended up sewing three plain white canvas valances.
One for each window with the intention to stencil them.
Right before I was ready to do so my eyes caught the washi tape that I had purchased earlier that day at Target.
Washi Tape?
Yes my dears… I said Washi Tape.
So, I thought wait a minute little monkey!
1. Washi tape is HEAT resistant.
2. I don’t know you but I don’t wash my valances every month…
3. By the end of the Season I can give them a wash exchange the washi tape and even give the valance a brand new look if I want to.
So I made a Washi Tape Window Treatment.
Check them OUT!
This is the easiest thing I have ever done!
Just place the tape making the design you like and lightly iron the tape to the fabric to make a stronger bond.
YOU ARE DONE!
Say it with me…
Ready?
ONE
TWO
THREE…
SHUT THE FRONT DOOR!
I would never use Washi Tape on a regular curtain that it is used all the time.
I don’t think it is strong enough for a project like that.
For a window treatment that you don’t touch at all, as a valance, I think it is a great idea.
So there you have it!
Day one: Washi Tape Window Treatment!
SO COOL!
I’ll be back tomorrow with more…
Happy Monday My Friends!
Desirée.
I am sharing this project at this fabulous parties!
The day you posted about finding the washi tape at Target I went and found some myself… bought up all three colors! I love this idea–what a great way to customize for each season!
I”ve never used Wahsi tape….but maybe I need to! This is awesome! Thanks for sharing at Handmade Tuesdays
Oh my, what a great use for washi tape…and you’re right, now you have the flexibility to change it up for the seasons!! If you’d like another place to share it I’m hosting a link party today with a few fellow bloggers. It’s all about the easy peasy, super simple tips and projects. I’d be great to see you linked up. 🙂

I love the idea of valances and of using waashi tape to decorate them. It costs a fortune here though. I think I’d go with a length of ribbon…
I love this idea, and cannot wait to see what the rest of the kitchen reveal looks like, thank you!!!!
oh my gosh so cute and you got the tape at Target??? i’m going!
How on earth did you think of this?? Seriously so amazing! I want to run to Target right now! These are amazingly awesome 🙂

and it IS so hard to find washi tape! I saw you responded to someone down the screen here haha I had to order some offline…and pay for shipping boo. But I totally feel like Michaels of something would have a whole aisle of it!
Great idea! Washi tape at Target??
Crazy but true. Look over at the office area.
So simple, yet perfect!! Well done.

Kelly,
I don’t understand how something so cool it is so hard to find. I am not sure why Craft Stores don’t have a ton of Washi Tape…
Anyways, thank you for visiting with me today!
