TUTORIAL
1
Paint the Jars and Lid-Ring
The first thing you want to do is clean the jars thoroughly and prime them before you paint them. When they are clean and dry use acrylic or spray paint to paint the outside of the jar. You are going to need two to three coats of paint. Make sure to let the paint dry completely between coats for best results. Let the kiddos help with this part of the job… Kids love to paint!
To paint the lid-ring I used black spray paint.
2
Make the Leaves
Cut a piece of green card stock in a leaf shape and leave a long stem at the end.
Fold the leaf in half to make the middle vein.
Use an embossing tool to make the rest of the veins.
You are done!
3
MAKE THE STEM
Paint or stain a wood peg and glue the leaves to it.
Use the glue gun to attach the wood peg to the lid.
You are done!
Fill up the jar with yummy treats and make a teacher’s day!
