After reading some of your comments I feel the need to take away this post.
I know most of you took it with the same humor that I did when these “rules” were shared with me.
I appreciate one and each of my readers
and I want you to know that it was never my intention to offend anyone.
In all seriousness, for us the most amazing thing about parenthood is to see our boy and girls grow up
knowing who they are, and giving them the confidence to embrace life and everything that comes with it.
I sincerely apologize for the misunderstanding.
Thank You So Much For Visiting!

This is horrible. How do you want to raise a powerful independent daughter if you treat her like that? I mean, teaching her the only thing a guy may be wating from her is sex, that the guy has to treat her right not because it’s the right thing and what she deserves, but because her dad has a shotgun and a shovel? That a guy has to be responsible for the date, coming to her house, telling her dad where they are going, with whom and at what time they should get back? I know it is suposedly humour, but I find it so unappropriate.
Oh no! I am so sorry that this post was offensive to you. I completely agree with you about teaching our children to be powerful, independent individuals.
Thank you for pointing this out to me since it was never my intention for this post to come across as a serious set of rules but just a humorous one. I updated it and I added my voice to it.
Thank you again and my most sincere apologies.
I love number 8.
I laughed through the whole list – so hilarious…. My son has two daughters entering on the dating era and I think he will really take these to heart – thanks for sharing…..
I love it. perfect. Hugs, Marty
This is hysterical! Thanks for sharing 🙂
Great post! 🙂
LOVE THIS!!! Pinning and sharing! As a parent of 4 kids (2 teen daughters and 2 young sons) this list will come in handy!
LOL I wish I would have had this sooner. I will be giving this to my son and son in-law! Cute post.
My husband and I laughed our way through this list – it’s great! I’ll have to put it away somewhere for when my little peeps are of dating age. 😉
Ha ha! That’s hilarious. Rule #5 should scare of anyone who’s not interested in getting married on the first date!
