Yesterday I paid a little visit to our local Dollar Tree Store.
I went looking for some party favors for Anni’s birthday.
Among some other items I purchased these little bubble bottles and
these butterfly noisemakers.
Even though they were cute they were not exactly what I needed
but they had the potential to be…
Oh you got to love Washi Tape!
After removing the butterflies from the noise makers and adding some Washi tape around it
and some more to the little Bubble Bottles they were just perfect for Anni’s Party!
That is 16 cute party favors for $2!
Not bad!
I can’t wait for her party…
It is going to be super colorful and fun!

Hi! Just wondering where you got the mini bubbles?? Thanks!
Hi Moni!
I found them over at the Dollar Store by the bridal items.
You made the ordinary extra ordinary while saving some money. I was trying to find the exact same thing for my son’s party but couldn’t find anything I liked. Wish I knew beforehand how to spruce them up. Very creative, thanks for sharing.
You are welcome Janice!
I used those exact party supplies for my daughter’s princess party last year! I tied pink baker’s twine around the bubbles and topped them with a shimmery chipboard crown {clearance at Michaels} and then took the butterflies off the party blowers and glued on a printable instead. I LOVE using the dollar stores as inspiration for cheap party decor–you’ve just got to think outside the box. 🙂
If anyone’s interested, I just bought the washi tapes in your photo yesterday at Target! They have 4-packs for just $4 {which is usually the cost of one roll on Etsy!}. They have combos of solid color, large and small polka dots and stripes in 3 color combos: aqua/navy blue, pink/orange and green/blue. So cute!
Last night I was playing with ideas for the washi tape and came up with fun one–wrapping the top half of white lollipop sticks! I’ve seen spendy patterned “treat sticks” on Etsy and wanted to DIY the idea–turned out darling and super cheap to boot! I’m going to use them to skewer fruit and truffles at an upcoming party.
Desiree truly genius, I shop like you – get something that works for cheap in multiple and modify it to make it your own and better. A little creative thinking goes a long way, can’t wait to see all the party details.
