I am sharing with you today my not so traditional Christmas Wreath.
I started this project with a wreath that I found at my local Thrift Store for $1.00
and me singing I’ll be home for Christmas…

The first thing I did was to remove all of the 4th of July happiness that it was on the wreath.
This is how it looked after the cleanup.

At the Dollar Store I found these gold eucalyptus branches.
All I did was gather a bunch of them together and tied them with some wire.
I put the eucalyptus aside…
{ the smell took me back to the early 90′ when it seemed like every home had eucalyptus garlands or wreaths… Do you remember that? }
…and I began making a small nest with the paper.
{ You can find this paper at the Dollar Store as well. It comes in a small bag }
With the help of some more wire I gathered the paper together until it looked like a nest.
Then I used Glitter Bast Spray by Krylon to give it a bit of sparkle.
Take a look!

The third element of the wreath was the small word JOY.
I used the same scrapbook embellishments that I used for my Fabric Leftovers Wreath.
I bought them years ago but you can find similar letters at your local Michaels or any craft store in the scrapbooking area.
I tied the letter with some strings that came out from some burlap I had around and I hung them from a branch…
Having all of the elements of the wreath all I had left was to put it together.
So I did!
I really like the simple natural look of it…
Don’t you love the little bird?
I do!
It was an ornament that I found at Michaels… I brought home a bunch of them with me to hang on my tree…
So cute!
I love Christmas!
Hopefully sometime this week I’m ready to give you a tour of my living room…
Stay tuned!
