Fourth of July Treats – Star Lollies Recipe
I love the 4th of July!
The parades, the barbecues, the patriotism, the fireworks,
the enthusiasm in the air and the sense of unity.
To add to the fun this year we are making these festive Star Lollies to our celebration.
They are super easy to make.
You may want to keep the recipe handy since you can change the color,
flavor and shape to match any other Holiday.
INGREDIENTS
1 Cup Sugar
1/3 Cup Corn Syrup
1/2 Cup Water
1/4 tsp. Cream of Tartar
Optional: You can add any flavor extract that you like.
DIRECTIONS
Just mix all of the ingredients in a pan and cook slowly until it reaches 300º F.
This will take some time, between 5 to 10 minutes.
Watch that thermometer you don’t want to go over the 300 mark.
After it gets there take the pan off of the stove and let it cool down to 270º before
you pour it in the molds. I use the silicone ice-cube makers for mine.
It works great!
After I poured the mixture I added some sprinkles on top of it to make them look cuter.
Let them cool down.
Before they harden all the way insert the sticks. I used cupcake toppers.
I found the set of cupcake lines and toppers at Wal-Mart.
Make sure the lollies are completely cool before you pop them out of the molds.
To serve them I used two cupcake liners.
Flip one of the liners inside out and put it inside of another one.
The inside and the outside would look pretty.
To dip the lollies I mixed some regular sugar with different sprinkles.
Fill the cupcake liners with it.
When they are ready your kids will be ready also.
We love them!
They are tasty and cute!
I can’t wait for the 4th of July!
Have a wonderful weekend!
Besos!
