This homemade Play Dough Recipe is super soft and smells delicious!
That’s right we are sharing today my favorite homemade Kool-Aid Play Dough Recipe today!
How fun is this?
This is an awesome and easy recipe.
Your kids will love it and it is a perfect activity for the weekends and school breaks.
The colors come from the different Kool-Aid flavors and the playdough smells yummy.
Here is the recipe!
- 1 Cup Flour
- ¼ Cup Salt
- 1 Packet Kool-Aid
- ⅔ Cup Water *You will end up using between ½ and ⅔ cup.
- 1 Tb. Oil
- Mix the flour, the salt, and the Kool-Aid together.
- Boil the water.
- Add the oil to the water.
- Pour some of the water into the dry ingredients and mix with a spoon. Keep adding water and work the dough until the color is uniform and feels like playdough.
I thought it would be fun to put the playdough inside of Easter Eggs for Easter.
If you want to do this make sure to first add tape to the inside of the eggs.
The eggs come with small holes and you want to cover them so they become air tight,
this way the play dough doesn’t dry.
I found these clear small 2 oz. containers in the paper plate aisle at Wal-Mart.
They came in a bag of 50 cups with lids.
I ended up using 42 of them… I know, I made 7 batches of playdough, one for each Kool-Aid color.
If you decide to use these small mini cups divide the playdough in 6 equal balls.
Each batch should give you enough playdough to fill six containers of one color.
Give this Kool-Aid playdough recipe a try with your little kiddos.
Mine loved to help me mix the dough.
A fun thing about it is that you won’t know what color it is going to turn out until the water is added.
The little ones get so excited trying to guess what color the playdough is going to be.
It is so pretty and so much fun to make!
I hope you give it a try!
Here is another fun project that my kids loved.
