I am so excited to be a part of ROUND 1 in American Crafter!The challenge for this week was Halloweenand I decided to make aChristmas Halloween Tree and Ornaments…

.
.
.

TUTORIALS:

Just in case you lose your mind somewhere between now and the end of this post  and decide to make this project…

this is what you’ll need FOR THE ORNAMENTS:

Popsicle Sticks, Rope, Craft Paper, Hot Glue, Scissors and Paint.
.
First…
.
Make some frames gluing the end of the four popsicle sticks together…
We cut some of them in half to have different sizes.
Don’t worry about making them look perfect it is Halloween after all!
.
.
.
Second…
.
Pull your paint OUT!
I used Glamour dust glitter paint from DecoArt for my project.
It is a little bit transparent so you can see the wood…
Call your troops and start painting each frame…
.
I can not say enough about how much I LOVE THIS PAINT!
…I can’t wait for Christmas and really use it.
{ Thank You So Much DecoArt }

I love that you can see the wood through the paint….
This is how they looked at this point…
….
.
.
THIRD
.
If you are like me you’ll have a bunch of scrapbooking paper laying around from previous years.
Trace the outside of the frames on it, cut it and hot glue to the back of each frame…
.
.
.
 FOURTH
.
Get your ink pad out and antique the frame…
.
.

FIFTH
.
Make some holes in the paper and thread the twine through it…
Just like this…
YOU ARE DONE!
.
..
.
 Now the TREE!
.
I really believe that the little witch inside of me inspired me to make the tree from  some weeds and broken branches…
.
The process was easy and quick.
I basically taped small branches and weeds to the main branch of the tree using black tape to hold them together.
.
.
Then my handsome little guy came to my rescue…
{my girls left me at this point thinking I had lost my mind}
and held the tree for me while I spray painted it in black.

.
At this point it looked like this…

How adorable do the berries look…

from ordinary weeds… to EXTRAORDINARY branches!

.
.
Now, if you are planing to do something like this here is the next step:
When you are tired and have no makeup on,
late in the dark of the night put it all together…
.
And say the magic words:
 bibidy babidy boo!
And you’ll get this… sometime around 11:00pm.{ well you get a lot more than this but you need to wait until the end of the post}
..
If you pay attention to the tree, the ornaments look a little bit different.
The ones in the tutorial were for my kids…
I made a more chic version of it for the witch tree.
{ I am the witch }
.
My frames were painted black.
.
and my paper… well let’s say it has a little bit more of sophistication.
{according to my girls (again) my paper is boring}
.
.
Let me show them to you:
.
The “H” is for Halloween…
.
One of the buttons from the witch’s dress
.
The “31” in memory of the spookiest day of the year!
.
The black cat and the boot could not miss the party!
{ This witch here loves shoes ! }
.
The bat because…
What is Halloween without at least one bat?
.
…and my very most favorite… the spider ornament.
Don’t you love the paper?
.
.
Oh no… Shut the Front Door!
This is the part where I STOP and you get to visit,
