It is known that the way to a man’s heart it’s through his stomach and what shows more love than to feed them breakfast in bed. This is my husband favorite breakfast so we make it for him every Father’s Day. It is also my kids favorite so we have baked German Pancakes every Christmas morning for breakfast.
You are going to love this easy breakfast recipe!
- 6 eggs
- 1 Cup of Milk
- 1 Cup of Flour
- ½ tsp. salt
- 3 Tablespoons Butter
- Preheat your oven at 400º F.
- In a large bowl using a mixer blend the eggs, the flour, the milk and salt together. Make sure you mix all ingredients well until the mixture is foamy and smooth.
- Melt the three tablespoon of butter and spread it evenly on a 9" x 13" baking pan. The pan needs to be at least 2 inches tall since the pancakes are going to rise quite a bit. Pour the mixture into the pan slowly.
- Bake for 20 minutes on a preheated 400º F hot oven.
- Enjoy!
So easy!

Add some syrup to the yumminess to make it extraordinary…
For a full breakfast I add bacon, eggs and homemade hash browns.
Pretty amazing that something so simple can be so good!

I’ve made this twice, and we’ve devoured it both times. The first time, I added 1/2 cup sugar and 1 tsp vanilla, and although it tasted good, it didn’t rise as much and took about 10 more minutes to cook. ??? This time, I followed the recipe exactly, and it was perfect! The kids and I were so impressed with how much it rose, and topped with a dusting of powdered sugar and dipped in maple syrup, it received better reviews than the first attempt. Thanks for the recipe!
Yay Lori! I am glad you like them… It is one of our family favorites… Now they sound good for dinner 😉
Yep! We had them for dinner tonight with a side of bacon. We love breakfast for dinner!
I’m making this for my wife today for mother’s day
How fun! Enjoy!
I did this ones today after seeing it yesterday on your page on Facebook! They were pretty good!
We love them… I am glad you like them too.
Have a wonderful day!
My mother made these for us growing up only one difference, the topping. TRUST ME and try it.
When just out of the oven sprinkle with brown sugar. (it will melt) Then fruit of choice. I use frozen strawberries (thawed) in juice with or w/o sugar, and a dollop of sour cream. It’s my birthday breakfast every year… And anytime I want to treat the family!! (hubby likes peaches)
Greta, I will try it for sure… You had me at brown sugar 😉
Thank you so much! My mom used to make these and when she passed away my sister and I were not old enough to know what they were. You have brought back a wonderful memory, I can’t wait to share them with my kids now!!
Thanks for posting this recipe! We were in Palm Springs a few weeks ago and had this at a local restaurant there for breakfast…fabulous! They sprinkled it with powdered sugar and gave you lemon wedges to squeeze over it…very yummy! Can’t wait to try your recipe.
I need to try that!
I assume you’re using self-rising flour, but since I’m not much for baking usually it could be all- purpose flour…which one? I’d love to try these at the lake this weekend…. Looks yummy~
Thanks~
Kathrina, I use regular flour.
Yum! This would be an incredible breakfast. Would love you to share this at Breakfast Ideas Mondays – http://www.yummyinspirations.net/2012/06/coconut-hot-chocolate-breakfast-ideas.html
I have these on my site with a slightly different recipe. We call them Dutch babies, and we just had them this morning. I think they’re my favorite, and I was just talking to my husband about why they don’t have them on every breakfast menu.
I’m always excited to find a new breakfast idea for the kiddos, it looks delicious, Thanks!
