30-Minute Strawberry Pie- the perfect dessert!
Ingredients
  • 1-1/4 cups all purpose flour
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp granulated sugar
  • ½ cup cold butter (1 stick) cut into cubes)
  • /4 cup ice water
  • 4-6 cups fresh strawberries, quartered & hulled
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 (3oz.) box of strawberry Jell-O
  • 3 tbsp of cornstarch
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees
  2. Combine flour, salt, sugar & butter in large bowl.
  3. With a pastry cutter start working the butter into the dry ingredients until it looks like crumbles.
  4. Once you have reached a crumbly texture add water
  5. Work it together with your hands pressing & lightly kneading it together until you have a moist ball that holds together well.
  6. On a well floured surface - place dough
  7. Flour your rolling pin & start working from the center pushing outward in all directions
  8. Once you have stretched the dough large enough to fill your pie plate - transfer to your plate.
  9. Flute your edges
  10. Poke holes in bottom of crust with a fork & bake for approximately 15 minutes. Remove & cool.
  11. Put the water, sugar & cornstarch in a saucepan and bring to a boil.
  12. Whisk constantly until it become thick. For about 1-3 minutes.
  13. Then whisk in Jell-O & cook for a minute longer.
  14. Remove from heat & let cool for about 10min
  15. As the glaze cools, place strawberries into the pie crust.
  16. Pour the glaze over the strawberries.
  17. Refrigerate until set.
