Hello The 36th Avenue readers! It’s Jill from Create.Craft.Love! Who else is ready for fall? The kids are back in school (or will be soon). It’s time to start thinking about leaves changing and cooler weather. Today, I am sharing an easy fall decor idea that can easily be used as a transition piece for Halloween and Thanksgiving!
I created a stencil using my cutting machine and some adhesive vinyl. The wooden plaque I purchased at Michaels and stained it with a weathered oak stain.
Carefully peel and apply the adhesive vinyl to your wooden plaque.
Choose an acrylic craft paint to use on the lettering.
Pro tip: I use a foil cupcake liner for easy clean up!
Begin applying the paint using a blotting sponge. This also gives it a vintage appearance. Continue until all lettering is filled in. Allow to dry. (May require a second coat depending on the color you chose.)
Once dry, carefully remove the adhesive vinyl.
I added some paper leaves for a finishing touch!
It looks adorable on my side table next to a mason jar votive!
