You guys are the best!
Last week I asked on The 36th AVENUE Facebook Page what color I should spray paint this
cute bread box that I found at my local Thrift Store for $2.50.
I love a good deal!
After reading your 62 comments { wow! }, I decided to paint the bread box green.
I think it is SUPER cute!
Take a closer look… Here it is closed.
… and open!
Inspired by the fun transformation I decided to keep going with the spray paint
and give some love to the rest of the items that I found.
The adorable candy box before…
…and after.
Here it is on display.
When looking for accessories think outside of the box.
Be creative and unique.
Cupcake bakeware is perfect to hold small items such as beads, buttons, pins, and much more.
I love this little candy holder…
When I put everything together I got a colorful and useful vintage display for $5 !
So fun!

Love the red & aqua candy tin!!!
Hi Desiree,
Love all this craft!
What shade is the free you used for the bred box?
Thanks always for sharing.
Karina
Seriously, how fun and creative are you? Everything is so well coordinated. Love the colors and the ideas of organizing.
Are those Hot Tamales? Oh man! My fave candy every time I go to the movies 🙂
Have a great week Desiree!

Dear Desiree,
What shade of green is that? I loved it.
Karina
Love all the pieces, but my favorite is the candy dish. The detailed edge and the way the paint covered the engraved detail looks awesome! Now I’m going to have to keep my eyes peeled for one next time I go to Goodwill 🙂
Those are lovely! I have some spray-painting I need to do!
I LOVE those colors! It looks absolutely stunning! You have forever changed the way I look at EVERYTHING because now I know with a little paint it can be drastically transformed 🙂
I’m just wondering about using spray paint on items for food, such as your white display with red candy. Is it safe?
I don’t use them for food. I use them to store beads, buttons and small items like that.
I’m just wondering about using spray paint on pieces that will be used for food, such as your display with red candy — is it safe? Somewhere I read that you shouldn’t put food on anything that has been spray painted. What do you think?
The candy has a paper liner under. The tin was not painted inside. For sure you should not use items to bake that have been spray painted. Good point!
I recently found your blog and I have been so busy reading through all your great projects. I have to comment on this one though because as a thrifter myself, I am so impressed by the way you finished these items. Love. It.!
Thank you so much Lisa and WELCOME to The 36th AVENUE… good to have you here 🙂
