PART ONE:
{A little bit @ a time}

ColorCoLoR… COLOR
The great thing about color is that it can make anything, and I mean anything pop with fun, boldness, character and personality.
Sadly, I think people in general are scared of color…

Let me explain…
I believe most of us LOVE color when we see it
but when the time comes to apply it,
the reality is that we can be a little intimidated by that

screaming canary yellow

or the delicious lime green…
and lets not say anything about the new pink…
the HOT turquoise 😉

 I am sure that many  of you out there have said more than once:

“Oh, I love that
BUT
{I hate the word BUT}
I could NEVER pull it off?

Well… I am going to try to change that expression for…
“Oh, I love that
AND
{so much better}
I am going to make it my own!

 Let me share with you today my FIRST personal rule in decor.

1} Dare to try!
{I’m warning you however…, after you taste color you cannot stop} An easy way to welcome color into your home is with accessories such as pillows and  throws…
Check out these ones by Jen from Tatertots and Jello

I love the explosion of color,
texture and boldness on her pillows.

…a closer look 😉

Picture frames like the ones that I found at
Centsational Girl are as well a perfect way to bring color into your home. Blue and orange look always great together!
mmmm mmmm yummmmy!

 … Another way is curtains or even fresh flowers
I l♥ve anything that my
 good friend  Kimberley from Crystal Lilies does…
{By the way I love her new website!}

 Are you following me?
 Little splashes here and there will change the mood of a room….

What Courtney from Cooking Up a Family
did in her home is a perfect example of this.

This is her cute kitchen before color came in…

before dresser redo

…and this is her Kitchen after color was welcome…

Kitchen Redo, painted green with fabric hoop walls

Keep in mind that she kept the walls and even the main furniture in neutral tones what allowed her to accessorize the space with as many colors and patterns as she wanted.

 Her inspiration came from some frames she had made previously for her living room.

So, bring color in!
Yes, YOU CAN PULL IT OFF!
I think what makes some people panic is that HUGE wall with
HUNDREDS of colors in front of them at the paint store.
If this is your case leave the wall ALONE…
Just pick a little fabric you like… a small frame that needs some love desperately… or a bunch of flowers from your back yard and GIVE IT A TRY…
{A little bit @ a time}

You’ll see what happens.

If you have some colorful projects
email them to me…
I would love to share your
creativity with others.
…Next Tuesday I will tell you about my number two personal rule: See it!
