This DIY Industrial Paper Towel Holder is the perfect DIY touch for any industrial or farmhouse kitchen.
Hello The 36th Avenue readers! It’s Taryn from Design, Dining and Diapers.
I’ve been remodeling our kitchen for the past few months (you can view the progress on Instagram and I am excited to say I’m finally in the accessorizing stage! Isn’t that the best?!
The other night, we ate out at a BBQ place and the restaurant had this Industrial Paper Towel Holder on each of the tables. I instantly fell in love and thought they would look perfect in my industrial kitchen. So I cut a piece of scrap wood and picked up some plumbing hardware and made my own. Seriously, they are SO easy!
Here is the tutorial!
Supplies:
8X8 Piece of Wood
220 Grit Sand Paper – Find It HERE
Minwax Dark Walnut Stain – Find It HERE
Satin Polyurethane – Find It HERE
1/2″ Galvanized Floor Flange – Find It HERE
1/2″ X 12″ Galvanized Pipe – Find It HERE
1/2″ Tee Fitting
(4) 0.75-in Screws
Start by cutting a piece of 1″ wood into a 8X8″ square and sand it with 220 grit sand paper. Sand until smooth and gently round the corners.
Give it a coat of Minwax Dark Walnut (my favorite!). I always prefer to apply my stain with a soft cloth. I think it gets better coverage.
Let it dry and then apply a coat of satin polyurethane to seal and project the wood.
Find the center of the piece of wood and screw down the Floor Flange.
Screw in the Pipe and then top it off with the Tee Fitting.
It feels so good to get a little organized in the kitchen!
