No matter what the occasion is, a birthday, an anniversary, a way to thank the host of a party…
in my opinion, it is always worth it to do that little EXTRA that will make your gift simply EXTRAORDINARY!
I remember this being one of my favorite things to do during Christmas time as a teenager.
I have a sister that could be the wife of one of The Three Wise-men, I’m not kidding this woman knows everything about the perfect gift and wrapping is almost a religious experience in her house.
Some of my favorite Christmas memories are around wrapping paper, tape, and the chaos trying to figure to whom it belonged the Christmas gift that she had bought back in February… I love her, her enthusiasm for giving has had a great influence on my life.
“You’ll see Desi – she used to tell me – every woman becomes a thief when they get married.
One day you’ll find 1000 pesetas { around $10 } in your own house… You will know it belongs to your husband and with a bit of guiltiness { just a little bit } and a lot of care you will hide them in the place you’ll know he WILL NEVER find them again. Don’t worry about it my sister, the guiltiness will go away as soon as you go shopping and your heart reminds you that the children REALLY need another Christmas gift!”
Then she would laugh and we would keep wrapping until we could not stay awake any longer.
I will treasure those days and her advice forever 😉
Happy Holidays my Friends!
